Growth Groups

Cru Growth Groups Overview

Cru Growth Groups are small, Bible-based communities designed to help believers grow in faith, relationships, and purpose through regular small group meetings.

Purpose and Format

Cru’s Train & Grow program offers ready-to-use, free Bible studies organized into four spiritual pathways — START, WALK, RUN, and GUIDE — to meet students and believers at different stages of their faith journey Cru. Growth Groups are a core part of this, providing a safe, supportive environment for people to study Scripture, discuss life issues, and build relationships with others who share their faith.

These groups are typically gender-specific and meet regularly on campus or in local communities, often in small, intimate settings. They focus on applying God’s Word to real-life situations, encouraging deeper prayer, and fostering a sense of belonging.

We also have a variety of other studies as shown on the calendar or made available upon request.

Who They’re For

Growth Groups are open to anyone seeking to:

  • Deepen their understanding of the Bible
  • Strengthen personal and spiritual growth
  • Build friendships with fellow believers
  • Apply faith to academic, social, and career challenges

At UMass, for example, men and women have separate growth groups where they study God’s Word together and discuss topics like life, friendship, academics, and meaning in life.
